Using Water Quality Data

    Using Water Quality Data

UWW staff members use the data volunteers collect to track water quality trends and changes over time. They use the data in Hobble Creek temperature datapresentations to state agencies, local communities, and for academic research.

Explore the graphs of data collected by volunteers below.

In 2018, we looked at data on the watershed level.

The typical data link below has graphs, charts, maps, and figures of how one can better understand and interpret their data.  Compare your data with these trends and with the standards designated by the state.

Tier 1 data is used to establish baseline information about the water body and educational purposes.  By looking at the data you have collected, you may be able to notice certain trends - how the data changes based on time of day, season or year to year.

Tier 2 data may be used to make assessments about the water body or determine successes of specific projects designed to improve water quality.  Data collection follows strict operating procedures to ensure that all of the data is collected using the same method.
