As an individual or team of two, participants will demonstrate their presentation skills as they discuss their "Favorite Food", tell why they chose that food, where they got the recipe, and any special techniques used in preparing it.
Healthy Cuisine
As an individual or a team of two, participants must plan and prepare a quick and nutritious meal using proper food safety handling techniques. Meal prep and cleanup must be complete within an hour.
Chef Extraordinaire
As an individual or a team of two, participants have a three hour time limit to prepare and serve a meal for four guests and one judge.
Talent Show
Participants will express their talents through individual or group performances. Talent categories include dance, piano, variety, vocal, and instrumental. There is a 5 min. or less time limit.
FCS Bowl
This contest is done as a team of four. Participants work together to answer questions on all sections of family consumer science. (Food & Nutrition, Clothing & Textiles, Financial Management, Consumer Decision Making, and Childcare)
4-H Contest Day
Participants have a choice of four different categories to demonstrate their speaking skills. The options include Impromptu Speaking, World of Work, 4-H Demonstration, and 4-H Public Speaking.
Horse Bowl
Teams of five work together to answer various horse oriented questions designed to test their knowledge of equine science in a competitive setting.
Hippology
Individuals or teams of three to four share their knowledge and understanding of equine science and husbandry in a friendly but competitive setting.
Horse Judging
Individuals or teams will evaluate horses in the halter and performance classes.
Fashion Review
This contest is made up of three different areas: clothing construction, personal presentation, and interview responses.
4-H Sewing Contest
Contestants will sew a non-garment project such as a quilt, baby dress, hand bag, etc. They will be judged on construction, oral presentation, and interview responses.
4-H Shop Smart Challenge
Designed as a fun and practical learning experience for 4-H members enrolled in a clothing or consumer decision making project, participants will select an outfit, model the outfit for a set of judges, and share decision made in the selection of the outfit.
Cosplay
This performance art contest asks participants to wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific "character".
