Hippology

Participants may enter as an individual or in teams of 3 or 4 members.

Contestants share their knowledge and understanding of equine science and husbandry. The contest is judged in four different phases.

Examination Phase: Written Exam, Projected slides (for identification), Anatomy

Station Phase: Identification of saddles, tack, blemishes, age, general health, measurements

Judging Phase: Placement of 2 halter or conformation classes and 2 performance classes

Team Problems: Discussion of a "problem" and oral presentation of a solution or series of suggested procedures relative to the problem.
