Farm Field Days

Farm Field Days is an interactive agricultural field trip for elementary students, with priority given to third grade classes and space available for second grade classes.

Salt Lake County 4-H is excited to have brought Farm Field Days back to the county at the Bastian Agricultural Center. This hands-on event connects students to agriculture through engaging demonstrations, activities, and real-world learning experiences that help youth better understand where their food, fiber, and everyday products come from.

As part of the national “Ag in the Classroom” initiative, Farm Field Days is supported by local agriculture organizations, community partners, FFA members, USU Extension, and Salt Lake County 4-H. Students rotate through interactive stations featuring topics such as livestock, pollinators, soil and water conservation, crops, agricultural technology, nutrition, and more.

The purpose of Farm Field Days is to help children understand the importance of agriculture and the role it plays in everyday life. Through hands-on experiences, students are able to see agriculture in action while learning about the people, animals, and resources that help feed and support our communities.

We are excited to continue growing Farm Field Days and providing meaningful agricultural education opportunities for youth across Salt Lake County.

Before your visit, be sure to explore the Utah Agriculture in the Classroom website for additional educational resources and classroom activities.
