Small Animals

Utah County 4-H

The Utah County 4-H Small Animal Program is designed for those youth with interest in small animals and animal events. This primarily includes poultry and rabbit projects but may also include cavy (guinea pigs), cats, pigmy goats, hedgehogs, reptiles, or other pet birds. Youth are given the opportunity to develop leadership, citizenship, self-esteem, social, and responsibility skills. This program is for youth ages 5 (Kindergarten) through 18 years of age. The Utah 4-H Small Animal Program includes programs for those youth who own or have access to poultry, rabbits, and other small animals to learn about the science of show quality selection, care, and management. To find information about a small animal club in your area or to start your own club, contact our extension Small Animal coordinator at 385-268-6531.
