4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H is the nation’s largest Positive Youth Development Program. 4-H focuses on learning by doing.

The Salt Lake County Horse Ambassadors are back with their exciting club for all horse-loving kids—whether you have a horse or just wish you did. This club is the perfect chance to dive into the equine world, learn new skills, and connect with others who share your passion! It is for all 4-H ages, grades 3-12 who want to learn more about horses.

Details: If you're curious about small and companion animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, and more—this is the club for you! Each month, we dive into a new topic and hands-on activity to help you learn more about the pets we love. From behavior and care to fun facts and creative projects, there’s always something new to explore. Come join us and discover the amazing world of companion animals—one paw, tail, or whisker at a time! This club is for all 4-H ages, grades 3-12 and if you are an existing 4-H member, add the club (Lil' Paws & Claws) on Z-Suite to your profile to receive more information.

Demonstration County Contest
Date: Thursday, March 19
Time: 6pm
Location: Note: 4-H Clubhouse
Details: Giving a 4-H project demonstration can be fun! In a demonstration, you show and tell about a fact, idea, or process. You’ve probably given demonstrations in the past but didn’t know it. When you have learned how to do something in your 4-H project and then showed another club member, you gave a demonstration. In this contest, youth teach about their idea or process in a 10-15 minute presentation (see times for each contest below). Visual aids are encouraged, and youth can choose any topic they would like. This contest is open to 3rd-12th grade youth. This is the event that qualifies you to compete in the state contest known as 4-H Classic. (This contest will include general demo, FCS presentation and horse demo).
Time Requirements:
4-H Demonstration: Junior: 6-15 min Intermediate/Senior: 10-15 min
FCS Demonstration: Junior: 6-15 min Intermediate/Senior: 10-15 min
Horse Demonstration: Junior/Intermediate: 6-9 min Senior: 9-12 min

Horse and Livestock Contest
Date: Friday & Saturday, March 20 & 21
Location: Spanish Fork Fairgrounds.
Details: The Utah 4-H Region Contests are a skill-a-thon style event designed to make learning fun for 4-H members. Participants exhibit their knowledge and understanding of animal science and husbandry in a friendly yet competitive setting. The Horse and Livestock Region Contests are modeled after Hippology, Academic Quadrathlon, and Livestock Skill-a-thon contests. The contests incorporate judging, public speaking, quiz bowl, and practical education and knowledge components. This is an individual contest and you can choose to just participate in one phase, or all phases (to qualify for awards, all phases must be completed). Friday will be the horse skill-a-thon and Saturday will be livestock skill-a-thon. This is open to all 4-H youth 3rd through 12th grade, and will be a GREAT place to practice before the county and state contests, or if you just want to learn what these contests are. You need to register in ZSuite by MARCH 13 by 5:00 pm, and the event fee $15.00 a day. Details: Invention Club is a creative space for youth 3-12th grade to invent, tinker, and bring their ideas to life. Youth can work on their own inventions, explore how things work, and - if they choose- get guidance and practice preparing for invention contests. It's all about creativity, problem solving and learning by doing at your own pace.
