What is 4-H?

4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H is the nation’s largest Positive Youth Development Program. 4-H focuses on learning by doing.

4-H offers a wide variety of programs, projects, contests and events from livestock and sewing, to leadership and robotics, there is a project for everyone in 4-H. Explore our site to learn more.

4-H Boo Bash

Date: Thursday, October 29, 2026

Time: 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: *NEW* Walton Arena & Youth Livestock Barn at the Bastian Agricultural Center

Details: Join us for a family friendly event involving treats, trunks & barn haunts! The Salt Lake County 4-H Project Ambassadors, along with the Bastian Agricultural Center will be hosting a Trunk or Treat in the Walton Arena, as well as a pumpkin walk and spook alley in the new Youth Livestock Barn! Costumes are encouraged and there will be a fun photo opportunity with some of the Bastian Animals as well! This is a community event so you don’t need to be a 4-H member to attend, but we do have a ZSuite registration to help count participants and to sign up to be one of the cars for the trunk or treat.

Cloverbud Crew

Location: 4-H Ranch House

Details: Join our 4-H Cloverbuds Club to explore the exciting world of STEM as we learn about engineering. We will solve problems, and discover how your big ideas can become amazing creations.

Public Speaking Workshop and
Expansion Review

Date: Wednesday, November 4

Time: 6pm (Expansion and Review will start at 7:30)

Location: 4-H Ranch House

Details: Build Confidence and sharpen your public speaking skills at this hands-on training for 4-H youth and volunteer club leaders! Learn about demonstrations, impromptu speaking and prepared speeches while practicing the skills you'll need to feel ready for Salt Lake County 4-H Public Speaking Contests. Come learn, practice and get ready to shine.

Junior Master Gardeners and Growing Leaders

Date: Thursday, November 5

Time: 5:30-7pm for JMG and Growing Leaders

Location: 4-H Clubhouse

Details: Join us for our annual Pizza Party! This month, we'll put our garden harvest to good use by making pizza sauce with the tomatoes we canned. You will learn how to cook your pizzas in our outdoor ovens and prepare delicious sweet potato fries to complete the meal. It's a great opportunity to build cooking skills while enjoying a fun, hands-on experience. Salt Lake Stitchers

Date: Saturday, November 7

Time: 9:30am-12:30pm

Location: Wheeler Farm Outdoor Education Center

Details: Salt Lake Stitchers is a sewing club for 4-H youth in grades 3-12. We learn all there is to learn about sewing by completing a sewing project at each meeting. This month we will be making an apron with a crisscross back, so there are no ties needed! With the holidays coming up and lots of yummy food to make, this apron will be perfect for baking cookies, helping in the kitchen, or whipping up your favorite holiday treat.
