What is 4-H?
4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H is the nation’s largest Positive Youth Development Program. 4-H focuses on learning by doing.

Details: Invention Club is a creative space for youth 3-12th grade to invent, tinker, and bring their ideas to life. Youth can work on their own inventions, explore how things work, and - if they choose- get guidance and practice preparing for invention contests. It's all about creativity, problem solving and learning by doing at your own pace.

Horseless Horse Club

Details: If your dreams are filled with horses, you're in the right place! The Salt Lake County Horse Ambassadors are back with their exciting club for all horse-loving kids—whether you have a horse or just wish you did. This club is the perfect chance to dive into the equine world, learn new skills, and connect with others who share your passion! It is for all 4-H ages, grades 3-12 who want to learn more about horses.

Lil' Paws and Claws
Small Animal Club

Details: If you're curious about small and companion animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, and more—this is the club for you! Each month, we dive into a new topic and hands-on activity to help you learn more about the pets we love. From behavior and care to fun facts and creative projects, there’s always something new to explore. Come join us and discover the amazing world of companion animals—one paw, tail, or whisker at a time! Prepared and Horse
Date: Thursday, February 19
Time: 6pm
Location: Note: 4-H Clubhouse
Details: For general public speaking, contestants will present a 6–8 minute prepared speech. Senior and Intermediate participants will be scored on their timing, while Juniors will not lose points for speaking for less than six minutes. The topic does not need to be 4-H related, but it must be relevant to today’s youth. Contestants will be judged on appearance, language effectiveness, pronunciation and enunciation, organization, and overall speech quality.
For horse public speaking, the subject matter must pertain to the horse industry. Speech length requirements are 7–10 minutes for Seniors, 6–8 minutes for Intermediates, and a minimum of 5 minutes for Juniors.
This contest is open to youth in grades 3–12 and serves as the qualifying event for the state-level competition known as 4-H Classic.
