4-H Classic

Activities for kids, teens, and volunteers


Are you interested in trying new things, showing your skills, or getting ideas for your club?

Join us this summer at the Annual 4-H Classic!

There are 17 different workshops, 3 service projects, and 18 contests to choose from.

Contests

In addition to workshops, there will be 18 State Contests for youth related to Family Consumer Science, Public Speaking, Horse, Small Animal, and Dog categories. Contests are open for anyone to observe.
Grand Champion winners of these contests will advance to compete in the National 4-H Competition of that category!

Service

There will be three service projects on Tuesday open to participate in:

  • Quilts of Valor
    Tuesday 4:00-5:50 p.m. – Merit Academy room 219
    Open sewing lab (no skills needed) to sew a flag quilt block. All materials and assistance provided to sew flag quilt blocks from patriotic fabric. We have a quilt club that will be making the blocks into quilts to be donated to non-profit Quilts of Valor to be given to veterans.
  • STEM Kit Assembly
    Tuesday 4:00-5:50 p.m. – Merit Academy room 219
    Utah 4-H has some of the best STEM kits anywhere. Come help us assemble some STEM kits that can be distributed to many 4-Her's around the state. 
  • Firefly Service & Tour  (Registration required)
    Tuesday 2:00-4:50 p.m. – Thompson Century Farm 
    Can you see Fireflies in Utah? Yes! Come help with our service project at the Thompson Century Farm and return that evening after the awards to go out in the field and SEE THE FIREFLIES! *Please bring work gloves and closed toe shoes.

Event Details


June 24—25, 2024

**Important Update: ALL LIVESTOCK and MEATS CONTESTS will be held as part of the Intermountain Livestock Judges Training May 9–11, 2024.

Who:  Open to Adults and Youth in all age division: Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors.
*All Juniors must have a registered adult chaperone with them at all times.

Cost:  $25
Cost includes a t-shirt, programming space, contest supplies, and contest awards. (Some contests, activities, and workshops have additional fees).

Registration Open:  April 15—June 12

Locations:

- Merit Academy: 1440 W Center St, Springville, UT 84663
- Spanish Fork Fairgrounds: 75 S Main St, Spanish Fork, UT 84660

Lodging & Meals:
All meals and lodging is on your own if needed. You can come for one day or both days. You’re welcome to bring a sack lunch if you want during the day or leave the site to get meals, meals will not be provided on site. (Note: Horse Judging & Hippology will have pizza at those contests). 

You don't want to miss this great opportunity to learn and/or compete. Registration closes on June 12.

Awards Ceremony:
There will be a separate awards program each evening for the contest that day.
