Farm Field Days

Farm Field Days is an interactive farm field trip for third (priority) and second grade classes.

FARM FIELD DAYS is being reimagined at this time.
        - Check back later for updates on locations and dates.

Priority registration given to third grade classes on a first come first served basis.

This is part of the national "Ag in the Classroom" program and is sponsored by local agriculture organizations. Farm Field Day gives students an opportunity to see a well-managed farm as well as specific demonstrations on dairy, soil erosion, embryology, beef, pork, sheep, and farm production. The purpose behind this project is to help children understand where food comes from; and thus, the importance of agriculture in our society. Farm Field Day is open to any third grade class in Salt Lake County and each year over 2,000 students are educated about agriculture at Butterfield Farm using a hands-on approach.

Check out Utah Agriculture in the Classroom website for teaching resources before you visit the farm.
