Farm Field Days
Farm Field Days is an interactive farm field trip at the Butterfield Farm in Herriman for third (priority) and second grade classes.
FARM FIELD DAYS 2020 has been canceled at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused.
Priority registration given to third grade classes on a first come first served basis.
This is part of the national "Ag in the Classroom" program and is sponsored by local agriculture organizations. Farm Field Day gives students an opportunity to see a well-managed farm as well as specific demonstrations on dairy, soil erosion, embryology, beef, pork, sheep, and farm production. The purpose behind this project is to help children understand where food comes from; and thus, the importance of agriculture in our society. Farm Field Day is open to any third grade class in Salt Lake County and each year over 2,000 students are educated about agriculture at Butterfield Farm using a hands-on approach.
