Hongchao is originally from China with a passion of traveling and outdoor activities. He is currently a Ph.D. student and also a member of Utah State Climate Adaptation Science program. During his master’s study at the University of Missouri, he worked on a statewide project focused on the impacts of climate change to state parks and historic sites. Hongchao received a GIS certificate, which enabled him to expand his skill set for conducting social science research. Hongchao is ecstatic to explore the western U.S. and do research on the impacts climate change has on outdoor recreation opportunities provided on public lands.
