Sponsored by the Dinosaurland Resource, Conservation, and Development and Utah State University Extension the Roosevelt Farmers Market was established in 2011. Local producers and volunteers came together, working toward the common goal of supporting local agriculture in the Uintah Basin. Today, USU Extension Office of Community Wellness faculty and staff are managing the market by updating vendor applications, hosting vendor meetings, advertising for the market, and keeping the market, and keeping the market in compliance with TriCounty Health Department. The Roosevelt Farmers Market is a member of The Utah Farmers Market Network. This network endeavors to support local agriculture in Utah by promoting farmers markets and supporting increased capacity through communication, collaboration, and technical assistance and professional development.

The Roosevelt Farmers Market welcomes all vendors with home and farm produced items such as:

  • Fruits and Vegetables
  • Baked Goods
  • Artisan and Craft Goods
  • Other foods accepted under Utah law #4-5a-101 Home Consumption and Homemade Food Act
The dates for the 2023 market are: July 6 - September 28. Each Thursday, 3:30pm -7:30pm at Roosevelt's Central Park (91 West 100 East).

2023 Roosevelt Farmers Market Offerings:

The Roosevelt Farmers Market is anticipating being able to offer the following programs:
Double Up Food Bucks Program- This is a nutrition incentive program that stretches low-income SNAP recipients food budgets while increasing access to fresh, healthy, local food. In Utah, we offer a $1 to $1 match in SNAP benefits, up to $30.00 per market. SNAP tokens can be used for any SNAP eligible goods. Double Up tokens can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. 

Produce RX- This program is a fruit and vegetable program implemented in healthcare settings to facilitate productive conversations about food security between participants and providers. Healthcare providers will enroll eligible patients during regular clinical visits. $20.00 redeemable vouchers can be exchanged at the market for fresh produce.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program- This program provides low-income seniors with coupons that can be exchanged for eligible foods at farmers markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs. To qualify, seniors must be low-income (generally defined as individuals who are at least 60 years of age and have household incomes of not mre than 185% of the federal poverty income guidelines.)
