Free Community Naloxone Trainings

The Tribal and Rural Opioid Initiative Resource Center Community Classroom, located within the Office of Community Wellness, offers naloxone trainings at no cost to participants. These trainings are held in-person (in our space or yours) or virtually through Zoom. We offer 1 CEU, a certificate of completion, and a free Narcan naloxone kit for those that complete the training.

Our free trainings address common questions surrounding opioids and the use of naloxone. We also address myths and misconceptions, including:

  • What is naloxone
  • Who should carry naloxone
  • How does naloxone work
  • Is naloxone safe
  • What do I do if I believe someone has overdosed
  • Will I get in trouble for having naloxone
  • Does the use of naloxone increase overdose

Valentina Sireech or Cara Murray with the USU Extension Office of Community Wellness offer these free trainings throughout the Uintah Basin.
