Yukon Blue White Spruce
Picea glauca 'Yukon Blue'
This spruce is a smaller variety that works well for tight spaces. It has a pyramidal form, and its branches are stiff and formal. It is a nice blue-gray color. It tolerates many soil conditions and living conditions. It has purple and red cones maturing to brown and yellow respectively.

Leaf
Needles, 1/2" to 3/4" long, 4 sided with a point, blue-gray colored.
Fruit
Cones, monoecious. Purple and green when immature, maturing to a pale brown.
Flower
Pale red becoming yellow.
Advantages
Very adaptable to soils and climates; withstands wind, heat, cold, drought, and crowding. Good for small landscapes.
Disadvantages
Intolerant of full shade.
