Yukon Blue White Spruce

This spruce is a smaller variety that works well for tight spaces. It has a pyramidal form, and its branches are fairly stiff and formal. It is a nice blue-gray color. It tolerates most soil conditions.

Leaf

Needles, ½-3/4” long,
4 sided, horny point,
blue-gray.

Fruit

Cones, monoecious,
purplish then green
when immature,
maturing to pale
brown, pendulous.

Flower

Pale red becoming
yellow- staminate,
pistillate purple.

Advantages

Very adaptable to
soils and climates;
withstands wind,
heat, cold, drought,
and crowding; small.

Disadvantages

Intolerant of full
shade.
