The Swiss Stone Pine is a slow growing, pyramidal European tree. Needles are 2-5” long and attractive green-blue in bundles of five. Cones are short and ovular, appearing slightly purple at first, then maturing to brown.

Advantages

Used as a landscape tree; pine nuts are edible; resistant to White Pine Blister Rust.

Disadvantages

Susceptible to general pine blights and cankers.
