Leaf

Alternate, simple, elliptical. Long, glossy, dark green. Orange or red in the fall.

Fruit

Red, persistent through the winter, pome, egg shaped.

Advantages

Adapts to many different soil types, tough, tolerates some drought once established. Low maintenance.

Disadvantages

Prefers moist soils.
