This large shrub or small tree is native to China and is a somewhat rare and hard to find. It gets its name from the unique flowers which bloom in the late summer. It has showy exfoliating bark, colorful fruit and a unique shape that gives it year-round interest. This tree prefers well-drained soils and full sun.
