This crabapple is one of the few weeping forms. The leaves have a purple to burgundy tint, the spring flowers are deep magenta in color, and red persistent fruit lingers on the tree until late in the winter. As with other crabapples, it is drought tolerant and very adaptable.

Susceptible to scab, messy fruit.
