Raspberry Spear Crabapple

This crabapple is columnar with magenta flowers and dark purple foliage that bronzes in later summer. The fruit is persistent throughout the winter, ½” in size, and purple-red which eventually ripens into a bright red. It has very good resistance to scab and fireblight.

Leaf

Purple-red, ripe fruit is bright red, ½” in diameter.

Disadvantages

Dry fruit drop in late winter.
