The Radiant Crabapple has single, pink flowers with red, persistent fruit. It does well in many soil types, is drought tolerant, and cold hardy, so does well in the West, however it is extremely susceptible to scab. Its habit is compact and rounded.

Leaf

Alternate, simple, serrated, new growth is reddish, mature growth is green.

Fruit

Red, ½” in diameter, persistent.

Flower

Deep red buds open to pink flowers.

Advantages

Adapts to many different soil types, very cold hardy, resistant to fireblight.

Disadvantages

Messy fruit, suckers, extremely susceptible to scab.
