This redbud is known for its bigger and fuller pink blooms in the spring. It has glossy, green leaves that turn yellow in the fall. It does well in moderately moist soils, and part shade can be helpful for hot summers like we get in Utah. It does not tolerate drought well.

Leaf
Alternate, simple, broad and heart shaped. 3-5" long and wide. Green with yellow fall color.
Fruit
Seed pods do not follow flowering in this variety.
Flower
Perfect, reddish purple buds, opening to pink flowers in clusters.
Advantages
Does best in moderately moist and fertile soils, part shade in the summer can be helpful.
Disadvantages
Does not tolerate drought well.
