The New Mexican Privet belongs to the Oleaceae or Olive family. It is a native to the intermountain area, adapts well to our various soils, and is very drought tolerant. It has gray/green foliage, white/yellow flowers, black berry-like fruit, and gold fall color. It can be grown as a small multi-stemmed tree or a large shrub.
