Leaf

Opposite, simple, and ovate. Bluish-green color.

Fruit

Burgundy berry, 1/4", contain numerous seeds, persistent through winter.

Flower

Pink, spike, fragrant. Trumpet shaped with 4-5 petals. 1" long, bloom from May to June.

Advantages

Adapts to many different soil types and most types of environments.

Disadvantages

Considered an invasive species in several state; aggressive, self-seeding, high maintenance.
