This crabapple has a unique look compared to other crabapples because of its wider leaves. It is a short and round tree getting to be 10’x10’ at maturity. As with other crabapples, this variety does well in various soil types, pH’s, and is drought tolerant. This variety has white flowers in the spring.

Alternate, simple, serrate, midnight green leaves with burgundy overtones.
Fruit
Bright red, 3/8” diameter.
Flower
Mauve buds open to white single flowers.
Advantages
Adapts to many different soil types, disease resistant.
Disadvantages
Messy fruit and has suckers.
