This elm is prized for its resistance to Dutch Elm Disease, drought, wind, and other pests and diseases. While it is more than other elms, it is still susceptible to some pests and diseases. The leaves on this elm emerge as a light green color in the spring and matures to a dark green in the summer and a yellow fall color.
