Chinese Parrotia is well known for its fall color and retains the color well into the winter. It is a very slow grower, but has interesting leaves, flowers, and is a hardy tree.

Flower

Have no petals, only stamens. They are bright gold.

Advantages

Resistant to cold, heat, drought, and pests.

Intolerant of shade.
