Amersfoort Japanese Yew is a small evergreen that can be used as a hedge or alone. It handles pruning well as opposed to other conifers. The leaves are rounded, flat, and stiff, looking somewhat like a boxwood. It prefers some shade and adequate moisture.

Ovoid, about 1/3” long to 1/6” wide, aril, red.

Flower

Inconspicuous.

Advantages

Adaptable to shade or partial sun and most soils and withstands pruning.

Disadvantages

Susceptible to winter burn, prefers a moist area.
