This crabapple has deep carmine red buds that open into a faded pink single flower. The foliage on this tree is green with a reddish tinge at maturity. Its fruit is a dark glossy red that get to be 5/8” thick. Its habit is rounded and dense. It is very resistant to diseases.

Leaf

Alternate, simple, serrate, reddish foliage in youth, tinge of purple when mature (reddish green).

Fruit

Dark glossy red/carmine, 5/8”.

Advantages

Adapts to many different soil types, very disease resistant.

Disadvantages

Messy fruit.
