Teen Winter Retreat

Join teens in grades 9–12 from across Utah for our annual January Teen Winter Retreat! Spend the weekend building confidence through hands-on workshops on communication and healthy relationships, enjoying winter activities, and connecting with friends old and new. Plus, get real-life insight from our expert dating panel of Collegiate 4-H members. Don’t miss the fun!


Event Information

When: January 23-24, 2026
             Friday 4:00 p.m. to Saturday 3:00 p.m.
*Please note, if you are picking up participants, please be at Aspen Grove by 2:45pm on Saturday

Where: Aspen Grove – Provo Canyon
              9521 Alpine Loop Scenic Byway, Provo UT, 84604

Who: Youth 9th-12th grade

Cost:  
$135 per person
Cost includes: lodging, meals, activities

Registration Open: November 1—January 8 or until filled

FRIDAY
• Check in at 4:00 p.m. at Aspen Grove
• Welcome / Introduction to TWR
• 5:00 p.m. Dinner
• 6:00 p.m. Workshops
• 8:30 p.m. Dance!
• 10:30 p.m. In rooms/quiet time

SATURDAY
• Breakfast
• Workshops
• Cross-country skiing / snowshoeing activity
• Lunch
• Workshops
• Closing
• 3:00 p.m. Check out & head home


 

Packing List

  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Towel
  • Gloves, hat, coat, boots
    • for outside winter activities such as, snowshoe, cross country skiing, and high adventure course. 
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Toiletries
  • Pajamas
  • Clothing, sweatshirt
  • *Waiver form must be uploaded into Zsuite when registering

Teen Winter Retreat Design Team

If you want to expand your leadership skills and work in conjunctions with the 4-H State Ambassadors, apply to be on the Teen Winter Retreat Design Team. We will be selecting 8 design team youth.

Applications to be on the Teen Winter Retreat Design Team are open between September 1 – October 24.

For youth in 10th-12th grades.
Youth will plan the activities and teach the workshops at Teen Winter Retreat. 
Must upload a 4-H Portfolio (Resume and cover letter) in zsuites. 
Objectives for the cover letter are:

  • Explain your 4-H Leadership experience.
  • Why do you want to be a Teen Winter Retreat leader?
  • What has been your involvement with this event in the past, if any?
  • What do you hope to learn from this leadership role?
