Sarah-Jane French

Coach for Livestock Judging, Sarah Jane French

Sarah-Jane French grew up in Cumberland, Virginia, where she developed a strong connection to agriculture. Her family operates a 100-acre farm, primarily focused on vegetable production, and has established four local farm markets in addition to contracting with Walmart. While the farm’s produce operation was central to her upbringing, Sarah-Jane was introduced to the livestock side of agriculture at a young age, sparking a deep passion. In 2011, she and her father launched S and R Show Goats, a 150-head operation dedicated to producing high-quality breeding stock and market goats for youth exhibitors nationwide. Her involvement in the livestock industry led Sarah-Jane to become an active member of 4-H, where she honed her skills in showing and judging livestock. This passion and commitment ultimately earned her spots on three competitive livestock judging teams, both in 4-H and during her college years. After earning an Associate’s degree in Agriculture from Butler Community College, Sarah-Jane transferred to Texas Tech University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She furthered her academic journey by completing a Master's degree at Tarleton State University, specializing in reproductive physiology. In her free time, Sarah-Jane enjoys spending time with her family, working with goats, cooking and baking, or taking walks with her dog.
