Program Impact

Youth mentoring has a profound and lasting impact on the lives of young individuals. It serves as a beacon of support, offering guidance, emotional nourishment, and a sense of belonging to those navigating the often challenging journey of adolescence. Mentoring helps young people develop critical life skills, enhance their self-esteem, and broaden their horizons by exposing them to new experiences and perspectives. This support system significantly contributes to academic success, leading to improved grades and higher graduation rates.

Utah County 4-H Mentoring matches over 200 kids each year with caring adult mentors. After participating in mentoring, 4-H mentees say they:
- Have learned new skills (95% of participants)
- Feel more confident about themselves (74% of participants)
- Agree they have an adult who cares about them (87%)
- Have clear goals for their future (88%)
