Livestock tagging is a key part of the 4-H Jr. Livestock Program. The date your animal is tagged with a Utah Junior Livestock Association tag is the start date of official ownership. All Market Animals must be tagged by the specified deadlines in order to participate in Utah Jr. Livestock Shows.
Cattle must be tagged 100 days prior to desired Jr. Livestock Show.
Sheep/Goats/Hogs must be tagged 60 days prior to desired Jr. Livestock Show.
Most Jr. Livestock Show require registration 30 days prior to show date.

2026 Livestock Tagging Process:
- Step 1: Register for 4-H at 4h.zsuite.org.
- All youth must be show "active" status before animals may be tagged.
- Step 2: Register for a tagging event
- In youths 4h.zsuite.org account register for tagging event.
- Payment by card will be made through this registration.
- Payment by check will be collected at time of tagging. (Check made payable to "Utah County 4-H")
- All Cattle, Sheep, Goat, and Swine tags are $2
- In youths 4h.zsuite.org account register for tagging event.
- Step 3: Attend Livestock Tagging Event
- Arrive at the livestock tagging event with proof of registration and payment.
*Please note: Youth must be at least 8 years old and in 3rd grade by the tagging deadline for the shows in order to participate.
*If you are unable to attend the tagging contact Corianne before the tagging event to schedule a Farm Visit, a fee will apply.
