Animal ProgramsAnimals: Take the lead with 4-H

“When a student has to care for land or animals or take on other agriculture responsibilities, they are going to be more accountable and engaged and have a better understanding of life than a young person who has not had similar experiences.”

- Gerald Young (Executive Director of the Vocational Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas)

All 4-H Programs are designed to foster positive youth development. The animal programs use livestock, horses, small animals, and pets as a vehicle for positive growth and development. It is our goal that youth will not only develop the knowledge and skills directly relating to their project animal, but develop important life skills and foster lifelong friendships as well.
