Biography

Meagan Ricks is a dedicated educator and program coordinator with a passion for connecting people to nature through meaningful outdoor experiences. She holds a PhD in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from the University of Utah and currently serves as the Special Programs Coordinator for WEB (Wellbeing & Ecological Belonging) at the Swaner EcoCenter. With a background that blends academic research, experiential education, and nonprofit leadership, Meagan’s work centers on creating inclusive, sustainable, and engaging programs that inspire stewardship and deepen people’s relationship with place. Her past roles include coordinating international youth programs, developing community recreation initiatives, and researching culturally responsive practices in summer camps and youth-serving organizations. Meagan is excited to support Swaner’s mission through programming that fosters career exploration, wellbeing, and a sense of ecological belonging for youth and community members alike.
