Biography

Mary leads our fundraising and donor relations in support of our mission to preserve the land and the human connection to the natural landscape, educate the local and broader communities about the value of nature, and nurture both the ecosystem and the people connected with it. She develops strategic philanthropic partnerships and collaborates across Utah State University to support Swaner's growth, stewardship, and future vision. Mary earned a B.S. in Biochemistry with an emphasis on Microbiology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her alma mater in her home state. She completed her Master of Public Administration degree at the University of Utah, with a focus on Leadership, Justice & Community Practice. When she’s not cruising around on her bike, Mary enjoys trying new cooking recipes, attending concerts with friends, and enjoying the magic of the Wasatch Mountains.
