Biography

Janna joined the Swaner team in March 2021 as the Community Engagement Manager. She oversees our membership and donor programs, plans events, and helps people connect with Swaner through volunteering and adult education programs. Janna grew up in the Carolinas where she completed her undergraduate degree at UNC-Chapel Hill before heading to Colorado State University for her MS in Conservation Leadership. She has seized opportunities to travel and work around the United States, study ecology in the Galapagos Islands, and complete graduate research in central Kenya. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing ultimate frisbee, and venturing into the mountains on foot, bike, or skis.
