2025 Strategic Planning

At Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter, we're embarking on an exciting journey to shape our future. Our 2025 Strategic Planning Process is all about hearing from you - our community, partners, and supporters. Swaner Retreat (Fall 2024)

This 2-day retreat included:

• staff & board survey
• brainstorming sessions

Community Focus Groups (Spring 2025)

8 focus groups covered:

• volunteers
• museums and visitor engagement
• access
• neighbors
• youth education
• conservation
• adult education
• Swaner family

Spanish-Language Interviews (Spring 2025)

40 Spanish-language interviews asked about:

• awareness of and experiences with Swaner
• recreation and nature connection preferences
• connections to community organizations
• desired nature programming
• environmental affinity
• barriers to participation

Community Survey (Summer 2025)

There were 352 respondents. The survey asked about:

• past experiences
• prioritizing focus areas
• ranking focus group ideas
• demographic information
