Gina Ward Finds a Remote Role That Fits Her Expertise

After completing the Rural Online Initiative’s (ROI) Certified Remote Work Professional and Certified Tech Sales Professional courses, Gina Ward of Davis County secured a 100% remote position doing work that closely aligns with her background in nutrition, diabetes care and education.
Gina now works as a Clinical Product Support Specialist for Sequel Med Tech, a company headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire. While living in Utah, she supports people across the United States, demonstrating how remote work can expand career opportunities and connect employers with talent beyond geographic boundaries.
“Thanks to the ROI team, I can help care for people with diabetes no matter where they live in the United States,” Gina said.
Gina completed both ROI courses in 2024. During that time, she worked closely with ROI Job Coach and Program Specialist Becky Newman to strengthen her resume, prepare for interviews and focus her search for remote job opportunities. Gina was a great student who enjoyed helping others understand the material and regularly shared her knowledge with classmates. Her goal was always to support others and help those in need.
Gina’s professional accomplishments reflect her dedication to leadership and service. While actively pursuing a remote role, she continued to strengthen her professional profile through leadership and advocacy work. In 2025, she was named Utah Outstanding Dietitian of the Year. She also served as a committee chair advocate for Senate Bill 317, legislation passed in 2025 that enabled Utah to participate in professional licensure compacts related to diabetes care and education. These accomplishments added to her resume and helped position her for the remote role she now holds.
The Rural Online Initiative is grateful to have worked with Gina and proud of what she has accomplished. Her story reflects the incredible people the ROI team works with every day and the dedication they bring to their professional goals.
