Western Legacy Farm and Ranch, an agritourism business in Washington County, Utah, transformed its website into a revenue-generating tool through participation in Utah State University Extension’s E-Commerce Accelerator (ECA) program, expanding its reach far beyond the local community and strengthening the long-term sustainability of the operation.

Before joining the ECA program, owner Kathie Iverson was trying to build an online presence on her own. “I was so lost. I couldn’t figure it out,” she said. “Abbey helped me walk through it, helped me understand, and educated me. I’m so grateful for that because I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the help.”

With ECA's support, Western Legacy built a functional website and refined how it markets its beef and farm camp experiences online. Today, the ranch sees steady website activity well beyond its rural community. “We get notifications every time someone gets on our website, and we get that all day long,” Kathie said. “We’re getting people not only in the United States, but across the world.”

For Western Legacy, that reach means more than website traffic. “It’s helping get our story and our farm out there,” Kathie said. “The more we can share our family and our lifestyle, who we are as farm owners, the better.”

The growth is measurable. In the first six months alone, Western Legacy generated $6,000 in online sales. Customers are not just browsing. They are placing orders. “It’s been neat to see people actually order beef online,” Kathie said. “That surprised me, and that’s awesome.”

The Wildflower lodging property and Cowboy Camp registrations have also benefited from having an easy way to book online. The website makes reservations simpler and more accessible for families, and horse lodging is now easier to discover through the site.

“The e-commerce accelerator has helped us market our beef and farm camps to a larger audience,” Kathie said. “It has increased our farm’s overall revenue and profitability.”

Through hands-on guidance and technical assistance, the E-Commerce Accelerator gave Western Legacy the structure and confidence it needed to grow. What began as uncertainty has become a reliable system for marketing, customer engagement, and long-term business stability.

Today, Western Legacy continues to share its story, connect with new customers, and grow beyond the ranch gate. For a rural, family-run operation, that growth represents opportunity, resilience, and a stronger future.
