Class Volunteering

Volunteering is the heart and soul of the program. The following are some examples of volunteer opportunities available to class members:

  • Maintaining demonstration and display gardens
  • Assisting with educational events
  • Giving educational garden tours
  • Assisting with plant diagnostic clinics and answering questions
  • Harvesting and donation of produce raised in the gardens to local food banks

After completing the course requirements and volunteer hours, Master Gardeners receive a certificate of completion. Many Master Gardeners find the community service so enjoyable they continue and participate in more advanced opportunities like the Docent Program.
