Ag Field Days

cookie the cowAg Field Day provides elementary aged students an opportunity to experience elements of a working farm in a hands-on way. There is no fee to attend, but registration is required.

Ag Field Days are sponsored by local agricultural organizations. Students attend demonstrations on a variety of farm related topics including raising dairy, beef and sheep. They also learn about soil health, food and crop production, beekeeping and nutrition.

The purpose behind this project is to help children understand where food comes from; and thus, the importance of agriculture in our society.

Ag Field Day is open to any 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade class in Davis County and each year over 1,500 students are educated about agriculture at the Utah State University Botanical Center and Research Farm.  Transportation must be arranged by the schools.
