The following agencies offer counseling for substance use disorder/opioid use disorder. Note: Resources are provided for information only and may not be available or appropriate in all circumstances. Alcoholics Anonymous Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Research shows that a combination of medication and therapy can can help some people struggling with addiction sustain recovery. Effective medications exist to treat opioid use disorder, including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone. These medications could help many people recover from opioid use disorder.
