Timothy Keady, MS

Biography

Tim is a member of the USU Extension initiative called HEART. The HEART (Health Extension: Assessment, Research, and Teaching) Initiative Team was created to help battle the Opioid Crisis in Utah. The Team focuses on stigma and harm reduction, prevention and education, strengthening community ties, and resilience building. The HEART Team was created with the assistance of Dr. Sandra Sulzer, USU Assistant Professor and Director of the Office of Health Equity and Community Engagement (OHECE) in Salt Lake City. The OHECE is an office of professionals and health volunteers coordinating tribal, rural, and other wellness outreach initiatives. Tim is proud to be a contributing team member of the office.

As a faculty member of USU Extension, Tim uses his unique knowledge, skills, and abilities to help increase the wellbeing of the population of Cache and Box Elder Counties, and all of Utah. Tim provides experience in chronic disorders education and management (including substance misuse and suicide prevention), critical incident management and response, public health, EMS (Emergency Medical Services), mental and physical health counseling, bias and stigma awareness, risk reduction, promoting positive adult and youth behaviors, and harm reduction. His goal is to create a healthier Utah.
