Biography
Donovan Bergstrom is the Program Director for the Office of Youth Services at the Division of Juvenile Justice Services (JJS). He oversees the secure detention facilities, alternatives to detention programs, Youth Services Centers and programs throughout the State of Utah.
Donovan has worked with at-risk youth for 26 years. He started his career in Madison, Wisconsin, volunteering in a detention classroom and teen suicide hotline/receiving center during college. In 1994 he moved to Utah and worked in the private sector for four years as a Program Manager. In 1998, he began working for JJS and held the following positions: Counselor, Senior Counselor, Supervisor, Assistant Program Director and Program Director. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Master of Public Administration from the University of Utah.
