Ground Water Permits

Glass of Water

The Ground Water Discharge Permit ensures that the quality and the beneficial uses of ground water are not being impaired by the liquid waste handling system. Typically, one up-gradient well and at least two down-gradient monitoring wells are required to monitor ground water elevations and collect ground water samples for laboratory analysis. Typical ground water quality parameters include ammonia, chloride, nitrate/nitrite, and total dissolved solids. Reporting frequency is quarterly or semi-annually.
