Manure Transfers
Records must be kept when manure, litter, or wastewater is transferred to other people or
entities for land application. Key information that should be recorded includes:
- Date of transfer
- Recipient’s name and address
- Approximate amount/volume (e.g., tons, gallons) of manure, litter, or wastewater transferred to the recipient
- Nutrient content of manure, litter, or wastewater that is being transferred. At a minimum, the Total N content, Total P content, and the Percent Total Solids should be included.
- Acknowledgement by the recipient that the manure, litter, or wastewater will be applied in accordance with current regulations and in an environmentally safe manner.
