Utah Drinking Water Testing Labs

The EPA and state of Utah do not regulate or provide standards for private wells. Private well owners are responsible for the safety of their water. At a minimum, the Utah Department of Health & Human Services recommends well owners should have the following tests performed on an annual basis: Nitrate, pH, Total Dissolved Solids, and Total Coliforms (E. coli).

Before sending samples to any lab, be sure to contact them with your specific requirements and make them aware of how you will use your results. They will be able to tell you if they are certified to provide the service.

Use either the PDF list of certified labs or the map created by the Utah Division of Drinking Water below to find a testing facility to analyze your well water samples.
