2024 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Master Gardener

The Master Gardener program develops a network of trained volunteers who provide Utah communities with unbiased, research-based horticultural education and technical assistance in gardening and home horticulture. You'll receive 15 class sessions of college-level lecture and hands-on training workshops taught by Utah State University Extension faculty and industry professionals.

In addition to the classwork, students are required to provide a minimum of 40 hours of volunteer service back to their community to receive their certificate. Most participants in Utah county complete their service hours at Thanksgiving Point on various activities such as helping maintain the Learning Garden or working on any of several volunteer crews in Ashton Gardens. More details on volunteering will be covered during the class. Other opportunities are available within Utah County, and participants are allowed to develop their own volunteer project, with approval from the project coordinator.
