4-H Programs in Uintah County
Teen Council (Grades 7–12)
4-H Teen Council is a leadership and service group for youth in grades 7–12. Members help plan activities and events, participate in service projects, and build teamwork and leadership skills while having fun with friends.
Livestock Projects
Livestock projects are a great way to learn responsibility and animal care. Youth can learn what it takes to raise and show cattle, sheep, goats, and swine while gaining hands-on experience and confidence in the show ring.

Horse Program
The horse program helps youth develop riding and horsemanship skills while being part of a supportive horse community. From riding clinics to shows and council activities, there is something for every level of rider.
Small Animals
Small animal projects are a great place to start for new 4-H members. Youth can work with rabbits, poultry, and other small animals while learning about animal care, responsibility, and basic showmanship in a friendly environment.
Family & Consumer Sciences Projects
Family & Consumer Sciences projects help youth gain practical life skills they can use for a lifetime. Through hands-on activities, youth can explore areas such as:
- Cooking and nutrition
- Sewing and textiles
- Home and personal organization
- Crafts and creative skills
Uintah County Fair
The Uintah County Fair is where 4-H youth get to shine. Members can show their animals, enter exhibits, and display the projects they have worked on throughout the year. It is a chance to celebrate hard work and share accomplishments with the community.

Uintah County 4-H Member-in-Good-Standing Requirements
To be considered a Member-in-Good-Standing in Uintah County 4-H, youth must meet the following requirements. These guidelines help ensure that youth are actively involved and gaining the full benefit of the 4-H experience.
- Be actively enrolled in ZSuites before starting their project.
- Be a member of a chartered 4-H club.
- Attend at least 4 meetings during the year:
- 2 meetings related to their specific project
- 2 meetings with their 4-H club
- Submit a Portfolio (Cover Letter and Resume) to an Extension staff member for approval.
