About Olena Kopystynska, PhD: 

Olena Kopystynska, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Department of Family Life and Human Development at Southern Utah University. She completed her doctorate at the University of Arizona in 2018 and then went on to do her post-doctoral work at Utah State University. She was working under the supervision of Dr. Brian Higginbotham, Kay Bradford, and Dave Schramm. Her research focuses on the influence of interparental conflict on their parenting and children’s socioemotional development. She further examines how these family processes change over time and whether they vary across diverse family environments (e.g., cohabiting parents, stepfamilies) and socioeconomic statuses. At Southern Utah University, Olena teaches Marriage and Family, Divorce and Remarriage, Parenting, and Fathering.
